College Admissions Coaching

Policies and Payments
Gretchen was really supportive throughout the application process and continues to check in on me to ensure everything is set before I start college in the fall. --Admitted to Virginia Tech Engineering

College admissions is an opaque and sometimes mercurial process. I will strive to shed light and give you the best informed advice possible, but no admission to any college is guaranteed. My focus is help your student put their best foot forward in this process.
Sessions are $170/session and include 1 hour of meeting time or essay help and 1 hour of research/communication ($215 & 1 additional hr in the first session). Sessions may take place in person or via phone, virtual meeting or shared documents. Additional time for meeting/essay help my be purchased for $95/hr and added to a session. See Services for session discounts and a la cart rates.
Payment is due at the time of appointment to secure the meeting time. Any changes to appointments must be made as soon as possible. Any changes or cancellations must be made more than 72 hours of the appointment.
College Search fee or Application Season fee may be required to continue at the session rate. (See Services for details). Paying these on time prioritizes clients for future services.
I accept Venmo, Zelle, cash or check. Payments can be sent via venmo @gretchen-doughty (you'll see a profile pic of me in a red coat, hugging my daughter), Zelle via my phone 646-320-2277 (my legal name, Margaret, is on that account), check sent to 19 Sherman Ave, Takoma Park, MD 20912, or cash delivered in person only.
I guarantee the that the current rate when you begin sessions will stay your rate throughout our coaching journey. Rate guarantees are based on minimum session frequency:
3 sessions for 9th grade
4 sessions for 10th grade
6 sessions for 11th grade (by end of June)
12th grade as scheduled -- may be weekly or bi-weekly with frequency and duration dependent on number and extent of applications.
Frequent cancellations, rescheduling, collection or requiring additional administrative time may invalidate the rate agreement. Meeting fewer than recommended may change rate to current or a la carte and may result in less availability.
